Jones, CPA, CLU®, CFP®, CLTC, Wealth Management Advisor.  Brian's valued clients benefit from his diverse professional background and experience.

Brian's entrepreneurial and business skills started when he was 16 years old as Founder and Owner of Marshall Painting Company. For the next eight years, his summer time business employed up to eight employees and grossed over $40,000. His company completed over 160 residential, commercial and municipal projects ranging from historic restorations to 96-foot church steeples. This provided him with wonderful entrepreneurial and management experience while helping to finance his college education.

After completing his Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting, Brian was a Tax Consultant and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for a local CPA firm and then a Senior Tax Consultant for a Big-8 International Accounting Firm. His five tax seasons experience provided him with an outstanding background in personal and business income taxes, business and retirement solutions, risk management and estate analysis.  His accounting and consulting clients included entrepreneurs, executives, and retirees in diverse business operations ranging from medical, service, high tech and manufacturing firms.

In 1989, Brian decided to utilize his unique background and help his valued clients as an insurance, investment and financial professional through the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Brian works with a team of financial specialists, including his three experienced associates (Mary-Jane, Nancy and Maura) to provide a comprehensive team approach to help his clients identify their needs and implement effective and innovative solutions.

Professionally, Brian Jones actively serves his community in numerous professional capacities.  Brian is honored to be a Past President of the Connecticut Estate & Tax Planning Council, Inc. (www.ctetpc.org).  Brian served his profession as an active Director and Officer of the Council's Board of Directors from 1999 to 2007.  Initially serving as a Director for the first three years, then he was annually elected by his peers to moving through the Officer's chairs (Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, President and Immediate Past President).  Brian served as the Council's President from 2005 - 2006 and helped the Council celebrate its 70 years of service to Connecticut estate and tax planning professionals at its May 2006 Annual Meeting.

In addition, Brian serves as Chairman of the Greater Waterbury Legacy and Planned Giving Committee of the American Cancer Society and is a member of the Professional Advisors Council of the Connecticut Community Foundation. His professional memberships extend to being a Charter Member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and a member of the Southbury Business Association.

Brian M. Jones, CPA, CLU®, CFP®, CLTC, Wealth Management Advisor is a frequent speaker to professional and business organizations on personal and business needs including insurance, investment, retirement and estate preservation and distribution.

Brian believes in continuing his professional development. Early in his career, he continued his education with graduate tax courses at the University of Hartford. He then earned the professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) from the American College. Brian continues to expand his professional and career knowledge by studying and earning his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™(CFP®) certification.  In addition, Brian has earned the Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC).
