Community Involvement
For over 27 years, Brian has had the pleasure of actively serving his community with numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations. He currently serves his church as Immediate Past President of Church Council and a Sunday School Teacher. In addition, he has served as a Deacon; co-chairman of the Investment and Planned Giving Committee and Chairman of the Personnel Committee. Since 1983, Brian has been an active volunteer fireman and engineer with the Southbury Volunteer Firemen's Association, Inc. (www.southburyfire.com) Chairman of the Fire Prevention Committee since 1995 and a frequent spokesperson and educational speaker on fire and life safety. He has been honored by the department by being nominated on several occasions for the Connecticut Public Safety Educator of the Year Award. Brian was honored by the department in 2010 as "Firefighter of the Year". Chairman of the Southbury Celebration since 1999, a town-wide food, music and fireworks program that annually attracts over 5000 area residents. Past-President and past-Treasurer of the Southbury Historical Society having served on the Board of Directors for 15 wonderful years.
